La puissante musculature au niveau des mâchoires du gros bec lui permet d’effectuer une pression énorme afin de casser les noyaux des fruits pour se nourrir.
Big beak, At the first ray of sunshine, the light is often magnificent and when there is no wind, the pond reflects the birds as if in a mirror. The powerful musculature in the jaws of the large beak enables it to exert enormous pressure to break the pits of fruit in order to feed.

"Le petit lac des cygnes" Le plan d’eau des Chauderets fait partie d’une douzaine d’étangs situés dans la plaine du Rhône. Cet étang bordé de roselière est devenu le refuge des cygnes durant l'hiver. On observe également des poules d’eau et divers canards qui en ont fait leur site de nidification. Un spectacle calme et voluptueux dans la brume matinale.
"Le petit lac des cygnes" The Chauderets lake is one of a dozen or so ponds on the Rhône plain. This pond, bordered by reed beds, has become a refuge for swans in winter. It is also home to moorhens and various ducks that have made it their nesting ground. A calm, voluptuous sight in the morning mist.

"Water, an essential resource for life". The position a giraffe adopts to drink is, of course, unique. After a careful inspection of its surroundings, it spreads its front legs, then slowly bends its long neck downwards to reach the waterhole. What a wonder to catch their reflection at dusk!

" La culture des algues " Plages de sable blanc, mer turquoise, me voici à Zanzibar, un archipel de l'océan Indien. A marée basse, des femmes accroupies déambulent voilées dans des tissus multicolores, les pieds dans l'eau, pour ramasser des algues. Ces algues seront utilisées pour la fabrication de savons ou de produits pharmaceutiques.
Seaweed culture White sandy beaches, turquoise sea, here I am in Zanzibar, an archipelago in the Indian Ocean. At low tide, crouching women wander around veiled in multicoloured fabrics, their feet in the water, collecting seaweed. The seaweed will be used to make soaps and pharmaceutical products.

Renard. Ce fut un coup de chance extraordinaire, il est apparu à un endroit où jamais je n’aurais pensé le voir. Dans l’excitation j’ai pu prendre neuf photos illustrant le renard qui saute par-dessus la rivière. Voici celle qui représente le plus la force de son saut.
Renard. It was an extraordinary stroke of luck; he appeared in a place where I never thought I'd see him. In the excitement I was able to take nine photos showing the fox leaping over the river. Here is the one that best represents the force of his leap.

Héron cendré pris dans la glace. En janvier 2022, j’ai pu avoir la chance d’immortaliser ce moment magique. Il est resté environ 5 minutes à cet endroit figé par la glace puis il est parti comme par magie.

Grèbe, Une femelle grèbe huppée avec son jeune parcourt l’étang à la recherche de la nourriture. Je me place face au soleil en cette fin d’après-midi afin de jouer avec la lumière qui scintille sur l’eau m’offrant la possibilité de créer l’illusion que l’eau se transforme en mille et une bulles de savon.huppé avec son petit sur son dos qui dormaient si paisiblement. Je ne voulais pas les déranger ni faire de vagues avec mon affût, car l’eau était si calme ce matin-là.
Grebe, A female crested grebe with her young scours the pond in search of food. I positioned myself facing the sun on this late afternoon to play with the light that glinted off the water, giving me the opportunity to create the illusion that the water was being transformed into a thousand and one soap bubbles.crested grebe with her young on her back, sleeping so peacefully. I didn't want to disturb them or make a ripple with my stalking, as the water was so calm that morning.

Le geai au bain, Le geai est un des hôtes réguliers de la mare que j’ai aménagée afin d’observer et de photographier les oiseaux au bain. Je suis assis, caché dans mon affût enterré, et j’ai mon objectif qui sort est au raz de l’eau, ce qui me permet d’être à la hauteur des oiseaux et de faire partie de leur monde l’espace d’un instant.
The jay in the bath, The jay is one of the regular guests of the pond that I set up to observe and photograph birds in the bath. I sit down, hidden in my buried blind, with my lens level with the water, so I can be right up there with the birds and be part of their world for a moment.

Grèbe et son petit. Vêtu d’un habit étanche, de l’eau jusqu’au ventre, j’avance doucement dans l’étang sous mon affût composé d’une toile qui est posé sur une partie flottante, qui me permet de me déplacer dans l’eau sans être vu et de m’approcher des oiseaux d’eau. J’ai mis beaucoup de temps pour m’approcher de cette femelle grèbe huppé avec son petit sur son dos qui dormaient si paisiblement. Je ne voulais pas les déranger ni faire de vagues avec mon affût, car l’eau était si calme ce matin-là.
Grebe and its young. Dressed in a waterproof suit, with water up to my belly, I moved slowly into the pond under my blind, which consisted of a canvas placed on a floating part, allowing me to move around in the water without being seen and to get closer to the water birds. It took me a long time to get close to this female great crested grebe with her young on her back, sleeping so peacefully. I didn't want to disturb them or make waves with my blind, as the water was so calm that morning.

Merle au bain.Les merles passent régulièrement en famille à la mare afin de prendre leur bain. Si la journée a été chaude, parfois les oiseaux se disputent la mare et les merles jouent facilement le rôle de chef, en repoussant tous les individus qui voudraient venir prendre leur bain.
Blackbirds bathing: Blackbirds regularly visit the pond as a family to bathe. If the day has been hot, the birds will sometimes fight over the pond and the blackbirds will easily play the role of leader, pushing away any individuals who want to come and take their bath.

Meltwater from the glacier redistributes the material over a spreading plain. The small lakes, known as "Kettele", are created by the melting of blocks of ice trapped in the material.

Une classe d’élèves de 5h a observé les contenants de l’eau. Ils ont répertorié plusieurs types de contenants et différenciés les contenants naturels (rivière, lac) des contenants artificiels (piscine, pistolet à eau, bisses). Ils ont constaté que l’homme se montre ingénieux pour organiser son acheminement et en faciliter son utilisation (douche, bisse). Ils ont aussi pris conscience que l’eau prend la forme de ses contenants et qu’elle se présente sous divers aspects sur la planète : glace, neige, pluie, mer et océan.
A class of 5h pupils observed water containers. They listed several types of container and differentiated between natural containers (river, lake) and artificial containers (swimming pool, water pistol, bisses). They found that man has been ingenious in organising the delivery of water and making it easier to use (shower, bisse). They also realised that water takes the form of its containers and that it appears in different forms on the planet: ice, snow, rain, sea and ocean.
